I know, it’s a little confusing. This event, one of the oldest SQL Saturdays, is going to once again be held in Vancouver, WA. Why? Portland, in the kindest way I can phrase, has become a challenging place to find meeting spots. Three of the Leadership members of Oregon Data Community live in Vancouver, all of us have an association with our site, Clark College, and Vancouver is just a fun city with lots of great food and pubs and it’s easy in which to walk around!
At first we weren’t going to do an event, due to the challenges of doing a virtual SQL Saturday, but then, as we started working on it, it became more real and more exciting. It’s been a lot of work, and we’ve been putting in lots of time to make it all happen. Many thanks to Steve Jones for all of his help with the SQLSaturday.com site, great vendors and sponsors, and of course all of the speakers that made it difficult to choose by submitting so many great presentations! I’m looking forward to seeing my many friends from the #SQLFamily, and the opportunity to meet so many more.
Shameless Plug – if it’s feasible, you should come to this event. It’s free. Lunch and drinks are provided for free. Parking is free. There are going to be 40+ VERY NICE people all speaking on various data topics and I personally guarantee you will find something interesting and educational. We have speakers coming in from Australia, South Africa, Europe, Canada, and all over North America. Not only are they here to present on their topic, they’re also here to get you excited about data topics, careers in data, and the networking in data. Ask them questions! Be that person that raises their hand! It makes the presentation a lot more interesting! Come and LEARN!
