I’m looking forward to having the opportunity to work in the Community Zone at the #FabConEurope in Barcelona, Spain in just a few days. I’ll be presenting on “Moving the Boulder – how to get momentum going for your community group” on Tuesday at 1430 HRS CEST in the Community Theater along with being on post in some of the booths/stations in the Community Zone.
While it’s technically work, I get to see a number of my European friends, watch some fantastic sessions, see the Power Hour (hopefully), and enjoy talking about data and Fabric with lots of new to be friends! My first SQL Saturday was back in 2009, and I’ve never looked back after finding my community.
When I’m not in the the Community Zone, I hope to go see some of the different Azure SQL/SQL MI/SQL Server sessions like Pam Lahoud’s “SQL Database in Fabric” – https://espc.tech/conference/fabcon-europe-2026/programme/sql-database-in-fabric-real-world-scenarios-and-solutions/ and “Mastering Performance for Microsoft SQL with AI” by Erin Stellato and Anna Hoffman.
Also, I think everything on the Inspire Stage will be …Inspiring, but Traci Sewell will be speaking, and also Ashley Felts.
The Women in Data lunch should be a great experience, and I see one of my first data friends, Heidi Hastings, is presenting on “Your SQL Skills Are More Valuable in Fabric than you think” on the last day of the event.
All in all, it’s going to be a good, if quick week in lovely Barcelona, and I’m happy to have the opportunity to experience it.
